Conjunctivitis
Conjunctivitis, otherwise known as pink eye, is an infection of the conjunctiva. The conjunctiva is a thin membrane that protects the surface of the eyeball and inner surface of the eyelids. Pink eye is caused by a variety of sources like bacteria, viruses, and allergens. Pink eye is highly contagious. People with pink eye usually experience redness in the white of the eyes along with watery eyes and possibly discharge. Minor cases of pink eye can improve within two weeks, some can develop into a more serious eye condition that can threaten the cornea and even your vision.
